Bicycle maintenance lessons

Multiple options available

Basic Bicycle Maintenance Course: Zoom or in person (In person preferred—but I will hold both zoom and in-person sessions, as needed). I will go over basic bicycle maintenance procedures, tools, and other supplies. This will include instructions for a full safety check, basic maintenance, and how to change a flat tire. I will use my own bicycle(s) to demonstrate. Each session can accommodate up to 6 people. Students: pay what you can. Minimum donation for faculty/staff is $20.

Intermediate Bicycle Maintenance Course: Zoom or in person (In person preferred—but I will hold both zoom and in-person sessions, as needed). I will go over how to assess and adjust typical braking and shifting systems, including a description of tools and other supplies and considerations. Each session can accommodate up to 3 people. Students: pay what you can. Minimum donation for faculty/staff is $20.

Personal Bicycle Maintenance Lesson (one person; multiple sessions available): In person only. I will work with an individual to assess their own personal bike and teach them how to fix or adjust the braking and shifting systems. Other repair lessons are possible as well (flat tire, wheel truing, chain replacement), so feel free to inquire at any time (ktunni@uvic.ca). I will provide the necessary tools and a stand (location TBD). This will have to take place in two stages, as I will need to assess the bicycle to see if any parts need replacing before the repair lesson can take place. The bidder would be responsible for the cost of the new parts, though I can help get the correct parts. Students: pay what you can. Minimum donation for faculty/staff is $50.
